CHIP comes with /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://opensource.nextthing.co/chip/debian/repo jessie main
But there is no corresponding deb-src list for the source packages. And when I tried to add one, it appears that the chip debian repo is not configured to serve up source packages.
You guys at NexTthing have done a really good job at making proper debian packages of all the CHIP-specific tools, and the sources are all in your git repositories. As an ex-Debian developer with plenty of experience with ARM boards, I’d rate your packaging work 9/10, and head and shoulders above nearly any other vendor.
But, the lack of debian source packages is that extra point.
It would be particularly useful to provide the debian source packages for the linux kernel and rtl8723bs-mp-driver, so that the user can use apt-get source to download the source and really easily rebuild it after changing configs.
(There also seem to be a couple of packages in that repo that you might have modified and not be currently be distributing source for, which is a bit of a problem. This includes flash-kernel, network-manager, etc.)
I think this should be easy to fix; if you need advice on configuring your apt repository to include source packages, shoot me or @gwolf a line.
